Yin & Yang

Yin and Yang is the concept of dualism – the idea that opposite forces are actually interconnected and interdependent in the natural world. They are not in conflict but in harmony, and one cannot exist without the other.

• Yin (阴): The black side. Associated with feminine energy, the moon, darkness, cold, receptivity, intuition, and stillness.
• Yang (阳): The white side. Associated with masculine energy, the sun, light, heat, action, logic, and movement.

The Key Takeaway: The small dot of each within the other shows that there is always a seed of one in the other. A period of great activity (Yang) will always be followed by a need for rest (Yin). True balance and harmony come from embracing both.
